Keep the heat engine? the bet of Japanese brands.

Three automobile manufacturers – Toyota, Subaru and Mazda – and two motorcycle manufacturers – Yamaha and Kawasaki – from the land of the rising sun have decided to join forces. They intend to promote the use of carbon neutral synthetic fuels and even hydrogen in a conventional engine, as an alternative to electric motors. To show that this is possible, they will also participate in races using carbon neutral fuels. The five Japanese companies state that they want to “offer customers a greater choice”, while at the same time developing hybrid or electric solutions in their catalog.

Is Citroën going to sue BMW?

The German brand recently unveiled on social networks a future large SUV named XM. However, this name is that of an old high-end model of the chevron brand. It was a sedan, which was produced between 1989 and 2000. Not the best Citroën model, however, because there were a lot of technical problems at the start. The point is that the French manufacturer is quite picky. He is currently on trial against Polestar, Volvo’s sports label, which he accuses of having a logo too close to that of Citroën and DS. A lawsuit which also blocks the sales of Polestar in France.

Peugeot remains the favorite brand of the French for cars

As every year, the FIFG conducts a survey of brands, all sectors combined. It is based on six criteria: performance, environmental responsibility, innovation, the ability to give a good image of France, the daily contribution of the French and attractiveness as an employer. The lion brand is in second place, behind Décathlon. It’s better than Renault, which ends up in 7th place, and Citroën, in 12th position. Note that Peugeot is better perceived by men and by the inactive.

And then, will Rivian experience the same ascent as Tesla?

Created in 2009, this American brand has just gone public. And it’s already valued at $ 100 billion. It is 10 times less than Tesla. But still, it’s quite surprising for a manufacturer who has yet to sell a single car. Yes, but now, Rivian has seduced Ford, which injected 500 million, and especially Amazon, which ordered 100,000 electric vans. Sitting on a pile of gold, Rivian is investing for the future. The brand plans to market 1 million vehicles per year by 2030.
