Katrina victims angry at Brad Pitt’s foundation

Homes rebuilt by Brad Pitt’s Make It Right Foundation after the hurricane Katrinain 2005, would today have structural problems, electrical and plumbing malfunctions, and mold.

A report obtained by The Hollywood Reporter indicates that the residents of New Orleans who have benefited from the support of the Make It Right foundation to rebuild their homes are not at the end of their sorrows.

Among the 109 houses taken care of, some had to be rebuilt up to three times between 2005 and 2014. Several owners over the years have discovered various structural problems and defects, electrical or plumbing problems and mold.

In 2018, a class action lawsuit was filed against the foundation and its president, Brad Pitt. A few years later, in 2022, another charity, Global Green USA, offered to settle the dispute and foot the US$20.5 million bill. But the NPO ultimately did not have the funds…

In short, in New Orleans, charities are not seen very favorably.
