Interviewed by presenter Giovanna Fletcher in the podcast Happy Mum, Happy Babyposted online in February 2020 and resumed this Thursday, July 7 by The Express, Kate Middleton has made rare confidences about her status as a mom. In particular, she revealed that she regularly felt a sense of guilt towards her children, in relation to their education.
“This morning while preparing to come here, George and Charlotte asked me, “Mom, why don’t you drop us off at school?” notably told the Duchess of Cambridge, currently on vacation with her family. A question that had completely broken her. “The guilt of the mother is a constant challenge (…) Mothers repeat it over and over again. We always question our own decisions and our own judgments. I think it starts when you have a baby.” she confided, before continuing.
A cause close to his heart
“I feel this heavy responsibility. I have learned many fascinating things over the past few years. If I could start all over again, I would certainly have done things differently, even during my pregnancy, now that I have realized the importance of the first years of a child” she added, she who had inaugurated the Royal Foundation Center For Early Childhood in June 2021, with the aim, precisely, of raising awareness among the British about the importance of the first years in life.
This is why Prince William’s wife says she is very grateful for the education she was able to receive from her parents: Michael Middleton and Carole Goldsmith. “We had parents extremely dedicated to us” she explained, speaking of herself as well as her brother James and her sister Pippa, recently a mother for the third time.
“I really realize today, as a parent, of all they have sacrificed for us. IThey attended all our sports matches. We have always spent our holidays as a family, all together. The things that really resonate with me are the simplest things. I even see it now with my own children” she added.
George, Charlotte and Louis can rejoice in having a mother so concerned about their education and so caring towards them!
