Kate Middleton paid the price this Thursday, October 6. The 40-year-old Duchess traveled to Belfast and Carrickfergus in Northern Ireland alongside Prince William. An unplanned, last-minute visit saw the couple visit a suicide center and engage in a fierce cocktail competition, won hands down by the Princess of Wales. But this victory did not impress everyone.
Kate Middleton and Prince William went into contact with the crowd who had heard of their arrival despite the surprise nature of this visit. If everything went well a priori for the Duke of Cambridge, his wife had to deal with a somewhat upset lady. In a video broadcast by the British media, we see Kate Middleton shake hands with a woman filming her with her smartphone. Throughout the handshake, this resident of Northern Ireland made it clear to Kate that she and her husband were not welcome: “Nice to meet you but it would be better if it was when you were in your own country. Ireland belongs to the Irish!“
