St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated across the globe with a good pint in hand. For Kate Middleton and Prince William, of course, the event is a little less alcoholic. On Thursday March 17, 2022, the sovereign couple did not go to the local pub but to Aldershot to attend the famous parade in the town of the English county of Hampshire, in the presence of the members of the first battalion of the Irish Guard.
It was an opportunity for the Duchess of Cambridge, 40, to meet some great people. Kate Middleton, who hadn’t been able to attend the St. Patrick’s Day Parade since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, arrived in Aldershot all smiles. She crossed paths with the mascot of the day, the dog Turlough Mor, dressed in red for the occasion. The wife of Prince William, owner of a small Cocker Spaniel, stroked the head of the animal before falling on another adorable creature: a little girl matching the rest of the guard.
And for good reason. That little girl was none other than Gaia Money, 20 months, whose father is Lieutenant Colonel Rob Money. Mother of three children – George, 8 years old, Charlotte, 6 years old and Louis, the youngest of 3 years old -, Kate Middleton had fun with the little girl, who was also entitled to a large bouquet of flowers. On this Thursday, March 17, 2022, the Duchess of Cambridge had obviously chosen a full green outfit. She had opted for a long emerald-colored woolen coat, branded Laure Green London, worth 3200 pounds, the equivalent of 3780€. She had camouflaged her immense hair under an elegant headgear.
The Irish Guard has been part of the British Army since 1900. The tradition of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade began the following year, and has long been under the thumb of Queen Elizabeth II herself. . Kate Middleton has been joining the festivities since 2012. After attending the parade, Prince William and his wife will visit the Junior Ranks dining room where the senior guard will carry a post in their honor. Cheersas they say !
