The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were to be entitled to a new red carpet evening on Sunday … But the 75th ceremony of the BAFTA Awards (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) will ultimately be done without them. As the magazine reports Hello this March 10, 2022, prince William and Kate Middleton will not attend this evening rewarding the best of English cinema and audiovisual. An event to be held on Sunday March 13 at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
Kate Middleton and Prince William have canceled their visit due to “calendar constraints”, specifies the magazine. The couple will therefore not parade on the red carpet in evening dress, as they used to do (see slideshow). It must be said that the Duke of Cambridge has been the president of the British Academy of Film & Television Arts since 2010. With his wife, they therefore receive their invitation card each year to follow the award ceremony from the front row. Already last year, Prince William had missed the ceremony, which was held just two days after the death of his grandfather Prince Philip, the husband of Elizabeth II.
Failing to be out on Sunday evening, we should see Prince William and Kate Middleton again the next day, Monday March 14, for the traditional mass celebrating Commonwealth Day. The couple will then leave for a new official tour in the Bahamas, a trip organized as part of the queen’s platinum jubilee (her 70-year reign).

Despite the absence of the Cambridges, the BAFTA Awards 2022 edition should delight their audience. For the first time, the Australian actress Rebel Wilson will be in charge of hosting the evening with her foolproof humor.
“It’s gonna be so much fun! I don’t want to put pressure on myself about it – I know I’m not going to be funny because I’m not fat anymoreshe commented with derision, in the press release announcing her arrival. And besides, I’m not going to sweat from stress because I have a medical condition where I can’t sweat… or offend people because of my adorable Aussie accent. So basically I’ll just be there to hang out with Dame Judi Dench and together we’ll both try to bond with Daniel Craig. And yes, I mean ‘Bond’.“
