Last March, Kate Middleton and Prince William offered each other a beautiful official trip to the Caribbean, well almost. Arrived in Belize, the royal couple quickly became disillusioned with residents who demonstrated against this official trip. Some have criticized them for a trip out of reality, with colonialist allures. Their parade aboard a Land Rover vehicle had also created controversy.
However, Kate Middleton and Prince William were able to enjoy a eight-day tour of Belize, Jamaica and the Bahamasfar from their three children: George (8 and a half years old), Charlotte (7 years old) and Louis (4 years old). “Travel is very important for members of the royal family, whether it is to visit communities or to travel abroad at the request of the government”assured a source close to the royal family.
A 6-figure sum for their official trip
What is certain is that a trip to the Caribbean has a price and not the least! According to Mirror Kate Middleton and Prince William paid the masterful sum of 265,000 dollars (i.e. more than 250,000 euros)! And that’s not all because, according to a report from Buckingham Palace, the total sum of the 179 thefts by members of the royal family amounts to more than one million euros.
According to Sir Michael Stevens, the custodian of the private stock exchange, who spoke to the course in an interview relayed by the Mirror : “The Sovereign Grant shows an increase in net spending to 102.4 million up 17%, with the majority of the increase in spending coming from the Buckingham Palace maintenance program which saw a 41% increase in spending at £54.6 million.”
So many colossal sums that can have repercussions on taxpayers…
