Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle on the road to reconciliation? “There was no longer this mistrust”

For ten days, Princes Harry and William managed to put tensions aside out of love for their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, who died on September 8 at the age of 96. For this pillar in whom they have always been able to trust, the enemy brothers therefore appeared together at Windsor Castle in the company of their wives Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton. The quartet, nicknamed the Fab Four in happy times, had come to admire the gifts and words of condolence left by the fans around the gates of the royal residence. During ceremonies and processions, Harry and William were regularly found side by side. It did not take more to give rise to the hope of a reconciliation.

If a rapprochement naturally took place, Stéphane Bern, expert of the Crown, is not certain that he records a unity between the two brothers. On the other hand, if there is a change to note for him, it is the improvement of the relations between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton. For him, the rivalry is no longer the same between the two women: “I wouldn’t say that they were friendly with each other, but in any case, on the face of it, there was no longer that antagonism, that distrust that we felt before. I found that there was rather a good relationship between them” he confided in an interview for Madame Figaro. From there to seeing them forge a beautiful friendship, nothing is less certain.

Proven or not, the warming of relations between the Sussexes and the Cambridges is not expected to last long. It’s hard for Kate Middleton and Prince William not to think about the terrible accusations dropped by Harry and Meghan during their interview with Oprah Winfrey. As a reminder, the mother of Archie, 3 years old and Lilibet, 1 year old had accused her sister-in-law of having made her cry a few days before her marriage to Harry. The latter, yet close and accomplice of Kate, to the great disappointment of the Duchess of Cambridge.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had said, without giving a name, that their son Archie had been the subject of racist remarks even before coming into the world. What seriously shake the monarchy, which has not seen with a very good eye the media unpacking of the former active members of the Crown. If the storm had finally passed, another is preparing: that of the memoirs of Prince Harry. Expected at the end of the year, they may not be published until early next year, given the sad circumstances of recent days. A little respite before the chaos?
