Jasper Philipsen is already waiting for that. Author of a first double on the 3rd and 4th stages, the sprinter from Alpecin-Deceuninck hopes to repeat the performance, Saturday July 8, after raising his arms again on Friday in Bordeaux. The Belgian is the favorite between Libourne and Limoges, during this new stage of transition, between the Pyrenees and the Massif Central. But, unlike the day before, the route is not reserved for pure finishers, and could offer surprises.

Two 4th category climbs are listed in the last twenty kilometers and could upset sprinters who are too tight to pass the bumps. They could also be suitable for a strong breakaway, if the peloton were to let go too much. Punchers with the right burst of speed like Mathieu van der Poel and Wout van Aert, hitherto deprived of victory, could have carte blanche on the Limousin roads. Follow today’s step.
