Season 17 of “Love is in the meadow” is in full swing. The farmers have already been learning to live with their “suitors” for two weeks and affinities are already beginning to form. Last week, one of them made headlines by kissing a candidate… under the eyes of his rival.
Appreciated for their frankness and their naturalness, the farmers enter directly into the hearts of the French… and of the presenter Karine Le Marchand who spends several months by their side and who follows their evolution once the cameras are off. At the controls of the show since 2010, she did not hesitate to reveal in 2013 in “Le Petit Journal”, the candidate who left her with a rather bad memory. Asked about her expectation with the participants, she had indeed been invited to give the name of the one she did not carry in her heart. The host then gave the name of Dany, candidate for season 7 in 2012 who had also asked to be cut during the editing: “He wasn’t sincere and then he broke the whole production and he lied. And I don’t like people who are insincere. He didn’t waver, he invented” she asserted.
Dany had indeed gone to war with the production of the show, accusing him of wanting to pass him off as an arrogant man seeking light. He was particularly furious to see that the producers had let a sequence on the air where he said he did not like women with big buttocks. Furious, the man was then quick to attack Karine Le Marchand in the columns of the magazine Ici Paris. “When the camera turns on, she throws herself into your arms and as soon as the sequence is over, she makes it clear to you that we are not from the same background. Peasant you are, peasant you will remain.“
