Karim Benzema disputes the version of Didier Deschamps on his departure from the World Cup in Qatar

The Lyonnais reacted Friday evening on his Instagram account to the comments of the coach regarding his departure from Qatar. The two men do not seem to have the same version of the facts.

Are we at the start of a new controversy around the French football team? In an interview given to Parisian, Friday, March 10, the coach of the Blues Didier Deschamps returned to the departure of Qatar Karim Benzema, then injured, a few days before the start of the World Cup. The International tricolor had returned home to Spain in stride, and very discreetly. If the Real Madrid striker has still not given his version of the facts, Didier Deschamps told him his on Friday. “I’m losing a very important player, one more. I have to cash in. Karim is bruised because this World Cup meant a lot to him. He said to me: It’s dead. Our doctor’s diagnosis joins the one that we gave him in Madrid”, begins the selector.

“The best, he continues, his return to training could not come before December 10. In his communication on his social network, he expresses his disappointment at having to give up, but justifies this choice by his concern to think of the team. We stayed together for about twenty minutes. When I leave him, I tell him: ‘Karim, there is no rush. You organize your return with the team manager. When I wake up, I learn that he is gone. It’s his decision, he won’t tell you otherwise, I understand and respect it.”

“But what audacity”

However, this version does not seem to correspond with that of Karim Benzema. In the wake of the publication of the article, the Lyonnais published a story on his Instagram account, repeating the words of the coach of the Blues, subtitled with a short sentence added by the player: “But what audacity”. He even added a clown emoji at the end of this caption. The following story is a video of a sketch of Ritchie, influencer on Snapchat and Instagram: “Liar, yes you liar, yes you, you are lying”. Again, he adds at the bottom of the video: “Sacred Didier [accompagné du même emoji représentant un clown]Good night…”.

In this same interview, Didier Deschamps endorsed the international retirement of Karim Benzema, while the doubt had still not been dispelled since the enigmatic message from the player last December. “He confirmed to me his decision to end his international career”, thus affirmed the coach of the Blues. It remains to be seen whether Karim Benzema will officially speak, and when, to explain himself in more detail on this affair which only seems to be at the beginning.
