Quebecer Karen Paquin has been named to the 2021 Women’s Rugby 15s World Dream Team.
The 34-year-old, native of Quebec, joins a squad that includes all-star players from England, France, Italy, New Zealand and Wales.
Last month, Paquin and her Canadian teammate Laura Russell were chosen to join the “Barbarian Women” team. The invitational all-star squad crushed a South African women’s formation by a score of 60-5 in front of a crowd of 29,581 in Twickenham, suburb of London.
Paquin was part of the Canadian rugby sevens team at the Tokyo Olympics.
This 2021 dream team is made up of a majority of players from the world powers of England (number 1) and France (number 3). The two most successful national teams this year. France has six named players and England has four.
