American rapper Kanye West, who now calls himself Ye, will release his next album, titled 2, on February 22, he announced earlier today.

West made the announcement by posting on his Instagram account, which has 10.4 million subscribers, a photo of his childhood home in flames, with the numbers 2 22 22 corresponding to the expected release date.
According to variety, this is the first time that the rapper has made a “ sequel to one of his albums. His previous opus, donda, was released, with a lot of delay, on August 29, 2021.

Donda is the name of Kanye West’s mother. She died on November 10, 2007 in the Los Angeles area. We see the rapper’s mother in the first episode of the documentary series jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy which will be released on Netflix on February 16.

The Scrapbook donda garnered several nominations for the 64and Grammy Awards gala slated for April 3 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Los Angeles. It is among other finalists in the categories Album of the year, best performance “melodic rap” and best rap album.
