In one month, she took the reins of the Democratic Party to become the official presidential candidate. Born to an Indian scientist mother and a Jamaican economics professor father, she became prosecutor of San Francisco and then California in 2003 and senator in 2017. Joe Biden chose her in 2020 to be his vice president. The elected official struggled to impose her brand, inherited complex files such as immigration, but returned to the forefront to defend the right to abortion.
Of his program, we know only a few economic measures in favor of the middle class. “Kamala Harris is part of the center-left. (…) Of course she will support NATO, Ukraine and Israel, but she will also insist on a ceasefire in Gaza.”explains journalist Daniel Morain.
