And for good reason, the latter has been closely following the career of her eldest for many years… Years during which she notably suffered several reflections because of her position as “sister of”… As such, the latter has moreover decided to make a show of it!
A one man show “sister of” will be born
Directed by Coralie Barroux, this one man show called “Sister of” will see the light of day on the stage of the Al Andalus theater in Avignon on July 30… For the occasion, Yasmina Merad has agreed to confide in the Parisian about his relationship with his famous brother.
“On the one hand I’m super proud, on the other it’s not easy, that’s why I make a show of it. It’s not psychotherapy, because I’m very proud to be his sister.”she told the Parisian.
“I was told one day: ‘I’m not calling you, you’re helped with your brother’. But no ! Everyone has their own life… In fact, everything serves me badly”, also said Yasmine Merad who has long suffered from prejudice because she was the sister of Kad Merad.
Despite these few obstacles in the way, Yasmina Merad is proud to have an illustrious actor for her big brother: “For me, he is the good one. He had so many qualities… Me, I made people laugh, of course, but it’s not innate. […] He always told me: ‘you have all the disadvantages and I have the advantages’, and that’s exactly it, she continues. I don’t want to become a star, that’s not the goal. I just want to have fun and do what I love. But if I could make a living from it, that would be great.”she concluded.
