Justin Trudeau revealed on Friday that he was in self-isolation because one of his children tested positive for COVID-19 this week.
In an interview with The Canadian Press, the Prime Minister stresses that he feels well and that he has no symptoms of the disease.
He explains that he took another screening test on Friday morning and the result was negative, just like the previous rapid test, taken on Thursday.
Mr. Trudeau did not say which of his three children had tested positive or how his family was doing.
The Prime Minister announced Thursday morning on Twitter that he was self-isolating for five days after discovering on Wednesday evening that he had been “exposed to COVID-19”, without specifying this contact.
Trudeau says he is working from home and attending the virtual Liberal caucus retreat on Friday. He will also have to participate virtually, Monday, in the resumption of work in the House of Commons, after a six-week break on Parliament Hill.
