Justin Trudeau urges Canadians to find strength in their differences

Federal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau wants Canadians to “draw strength from [leurs] differences”.

In his traditional Christmas message, Mr. Trudeau urges Canadians to “love your neighbors as yourself.” He prays them to give back to others and help those who are going through difficult times.

“Let’s share the warmth of the holidays with people who are alone this year. This is the true spirit of Christmas, and also the true spirit of Canada,” he says.

He adds that while Christmas is a religious holiday for Christians around the world, the values ​​of “compassion, kindness and hope” that the birth of Jesus represents are universal.

The federal Prime Minister also thanked “the courageous members of the Canadian Armed Forces, [les] first responders who work night and day to keep us safe and [les] volunteers who give their time so that others can experience the joy and light of Christmas.”

He urged Quebecers to contact a loved one who might be alone on Christmas Eve.

The Prime Minister also wished the population to rest during the holiday season, and to “enjoy the little pleasures of life”.
