On Friday, the Prime Minister’s Office announced a series of aid measures for Ukraine.
Among them, an amount of $4 million in public funds would be allocated to “gender-sensitive demining activities for a sustainable future in Ukraine”.
Gender specifics? Ukraine? Uh…

I was mixed up. I continued reading.
“The project activities include: carrying out non-technical surveys in the targeted communities and subsequently manually clearing them; capacity building of key national actors; establishing a Gender Equality and Diversity Working Group to promote gender-transformative mine action in Ukraine.”
Let’s reread together: “…the creation of a Gender Equality and Diversity Working Group to promote gender-transformative mine action in Ukraine.”
I searched a bit.
It will fund a British, humanitarian, non-profit organization, called the HALO Trust, whose mission is to remove mines and other explosives from combat zones around the world.
It is obviously a necessary and admirable mission, and one that must be supported.
Whether the person who has the courage to try to defuse a mine that could blow up in their face is male, female, gay, lesbian or trans is the least of my worries.
That’s not what’s at issue here.
What is at issue is this obsessive concern of the Trudeau government to introduce gender and sex into every nook and cranny, wherever it can.
I guess that mine clearance specialists, probably from a military background, must be predominantly men.
Are women or trans people interested in it? Canada will help them break this horribly sexist glass ceiling!
We will even make it a priority, a specific program.
In the package of pro-Ukraine measures announced, there is also talk of addressing (funding of $930,000) “issues of gender disparity in the Ukrainian media.”
I humbly submit that poor Ukrainians must have, in these times, other priorities than the sexual orientation of the deminer or gender equality in the news.
In short, we will not just repel the Russian invader, we will do it in a fair, diverse and inclusive way!

The UN, for its part, has also produced a 70-page manual on the importance of equity, diversity and inclusion in demining around the world.
The UN! That’s how vital it is that anyone in the LGBTQQIP2SAA rainbow can handle a bomb.
We are inclusive or we are not!
There are people who never miss an opportunity to advance their obsessions.
