A ray of hope for Omar Raddad. Thirty years after the murder of his boss for which this gardener was sentenced before being partially pardoned, justice should reopen the cases.

You have to go back to June 1991 to understand the affair Omar Raddad. His boss, Ghislaine Marchal, was then killed in his house in Mougins (Alpes-Maritimes) by stab wounds and a wooden bar. On the door to her basement, where she took refuge before dying, the gendarmes found an inscription on the door, made with her blood: Omar killed me “. After a long investigation, his gardener, named Omar Raddad, will be sentenced to 18 years in prison, before being pardoned, but not exonerated. With the advancement of science, counter-investigations have shown that the DNA traces do not match.

“It is obviously, according to the expert in genetics, a setting in scene. Someone held the hand of Madame Marchal to make the inscription in letters of blood”, says Roger-Marc Moreau, criminal investigator.

The investigative committee of the Court of Revision ordered additional information before ruling on the admissibility of the request filed by Omar Raddad. This decision constitutes a first step before a possible referral to the Court of Revision, which will have the last word on the organization of a new trial, an extremely rare event in France.
