Since 1954, it was forbidden to film, photograph, record a court hearing. Thirty years later, exceptions had been authorized for historic trials such as those of Klaus Barbie, the AZF disaster or the attacks of November 13, 2015. However, the heads of court sometimes allowed cameras to enter the room, but no law regulated the recordings. This has been done since last April: all hearings, except those of the Court of Justice of the Republic, can be filmed, under certain conditions. Hence the idea of Justice in Francea new monthly program on France 3 presented by the judicial journalist Dominique Verdeilhan.
Long excerpts from trials are broadcast and, on set, experts, lawyers and magistrates shed light on the functioning of justice. An educational role so that the French learn to know the functioning of the judicial institution on a daily basis. “Because we are all one day or another justiciable”assures Dominique Verdeilhan, media guest of Célyne Baÿt-Darcourt.
