The 3,030 Indian passengers stranded in Vatry for several days on suspicion of human trafficking could soon be rerouted to India. We take stock.
Indian passengers are probably living their last hours at Vatry airport. This Sunday, December 24, the courts lifted the seizure of the plane in which they were traveling. Two passengers suspected of being smugglers
303 people in total, held in unacceptable conditions according to their lawyers. These Indian passengers say they are on a tourist trip but investigators suspect human trafficking of which they are victims. Several of them have also filed asylum applications. Their aircraft took off on Thursday December 21 from the United Arab Emirates, heading towards Vatry for a technical stopover, they were finally supposed to go to Managua in Nicaragua. In the investigators’ sights, two of the passengers with cash and several passports are suspected of being smugglers. Their police custody was extended.
