12:56 : Almost three years after the start of the Covid-19 epidemic, caregivers have decided to swap their white coats for the tricolor scarf of a deputy – or in any case to be candidates or substitutes. Because “politics is another way of serving”. Some of them explained their motivations to me.

11:30 a.m. : Referred to in summary proceedings by four socialist activists, the court ordered the PS to organize within 30 days a national convention, with a vote of the activists, to validate the founding agreement of the Nupes. Announced at World by the lawyer of the militants, this decision is confirmed by an internal letter with the PS which we could consult. It was the national office, made up of elected officials, who voted to validate the party’s attachment to this alliance.

10:59 : Matthieu Orphelin, former head of the list of the left bloc at the regional level in the Pays de la Loire, will resign from his mandate as regional councilor and stop politics. Contrary to what its formulation may suggest, this is not a new measure: this indexation is the rule and the scale is updated each year.

10:03 : Sandrine Rousseau, Nupes supporter, spoke about this case this morning on France 2. She was asked about the strong political reactions to the tweet of Jean-Luc Mélenchon, who wrote after the death of this passenger “Police kill” : “Fact, [la police] killed, and it’s not the first time. The challenge is that she no longer kills”believes the ecologist.

09:28 : “We know very well what will happen”, predicts @OlivierVeran: “Jean-Luc Mélenchon, on the evening of the legislative elections, when he will not have a majority in Parliament, when he will not be Prime Minister, will explain to us that it is time for the fourth round, in the street.” #le79Inter https://t.co/xjvYSmWW1k

09:28 : Jean-Luc Mélenchon, the leader of La France insoumise and Nupes, is the target of all the attacks in the morning shows this morning. For the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire, on BFMTV, his spending program would lead France to “a policy of austerity and to be controlled by the International Monetary Fund”. The former Minister of Health Olivier Véran, on France Inter, questioned the chances of the left to win: “We know very well what will happen. Jean-Luc Mélenchon, on the evening of the legislative elections, (…) will explain to us that it is time for the fourth round, in the street.”

09:17 : “We must not give up, we must go and vote, it is essential. We can obtain that Emmanuel Macron only has a relative majority, which means that he would not have full powers. “

On Europe 1, Marine Le Pen is trying to mobilize her voters four days before the first round of the legislative elections. An absolute majority acquired by the Head of State would be in his eyes “dramatic”. She does not believe, however, that the far right can win a majority. No more than the Nupes, she believes: “He is less likely to be Prime Minister than me to win the Loto without playing”.

12:15 p.m. : Let’s recall the main news of the day:

09:18 : “It protects as much the one who takes his car to do his shopping, but who does not absolutely need it, as the one who absolutely needs it to go to his place of work. (…) I do not want to hear a single employee, a single worker, who tells us that it costs too much to work.”

The Minister of Economy Bruno Le Maire confirms, on BFMTVthat the discount of 18 cents per liter of fuel will be extended until the end of August, but he defends the idea that it be replaced “gradually” by a measure targeting people who need their car to work.

The two dailies classified on the right criticize his economic program: if it were applied, Opinion fear her “taxpayer ruin”and Le Figaro predicted “an explosion of debt” and “an economic slowdown that would affect the most vulnerable French people”.
