“Just with The Children of TV I would have earned a better living than on BFM”, Laurent Ruquier cashes in on his new salary!

It’s the big day for Laurent Ruquier! Exit France Télévisions, the famous host is preparing to return to BFM TV. It is alongside Julie Hammett that he will co-present his new show Ruquier’s 8 p.m.. A few hours before his debut on the news channel, the former sidekick gave an interview to Télé-Loisirs. An opportunity for him to confide in the new adventure that awaits him. “It’s a one-hour segment of news and debates with my take on the news. There will be the three big topics of the day and analyzes with debaters. I will sometimes take a small step aside from the news covered throughout the day. For almost 30 years, I have read all the newspapers, every morning. Not much escapes me!”,he explained in particular to our colleagues.

Delighted to share the air with Julie Hammett, Laurent Ruquier also wanted to put an end to the rumors which suggest that he hates duets. “On Saturday evening on France 2, I started it alone. Don’t let people think that I’m not capable of sharing the air: I’ve done that my whole career! More than others even. I discovers lots of talents, including that of Léa Salamé, so it doesn’t bother me at all to share the air.” he said before talking about his salary.

A financial matter

I didn’t do a financial deal.”, he said not without humor. And to continue: “Just by doing only Children of TV this season on France 2, as the channel wanted, I would have earned a better living than on BFMTV. It’s not money that motivates me. I already earned a good living. At 60, I want to do things that I enjoy and above all be appreciated by the people who employ me. That’s my driving force. There are three rules: that I be happy, that the viewers are sufficiently numerous and my employers are happy too. If these three rules are respected, everyone will want to continue.” That’s what it says!
