Barely more than a month after being sacked from his position as coach of the Spanish women’s team, Jorge Vilda is already back in action. The Spanish coach was named Thursday, October 12, at the head of the Moroccan team. He succeeds the Frenchman Reynald Pedros, who this summer led the Lionesses of Morocco to the round of 16 during the first World Cup in their history.

Close to the former president of the Spanish Federation Luis Rubiales, author of a forced kiss on the attacker Jenni Hermoso after the coronation of La Roja during the World Cup, then let go by all of his players (there were already 15 of them denounce his methods in 2022), Jorge Vilda was dismissed from his position at the beginning of September and replaced by his deputy Montse Tomé. On Tuesday evening, he was still in court, denying that he had pressured Hermoso to downplay the forced kiss of Luis Rubiales.

For his part, the Frenchman Reynald Pedros said he “very disappointed not to continue his mission” on social networks.
