Just For Laughs | A 40th edition in the form of a total return to normal

After two less funny editions, because turned upside down by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Just For Laughs festival will celebrate its 40and anniversary by completely reconnecting with what we have long taken for granted: artists on stage cracking jokes and people sitting in front of them laughing. Big names in international humor will be part of this total return to normal, from July 13 to 31.

Among the comedians who have been entrusted with hosting a gala, let us first mention the Tasmanian Hannah Gadsby who, with her subversive solo Nanette, shook the comic planet chips in 2018. She will take the stage at the Théâtre Maisonneuve on July 27.

Former late-night host Chelsea Handler (July 28), endearing actor and comedian Patton Oswalt (July 29) and podcast king Marc Maron (July 30) are among the leading figures of American laughter having accepted the invitation of the Anglophone counterpart of Just for Laughs to host a gala.

Other events on the program include solo shows by the former author of Saturday Night Live John Mulaney, the jovial Bill Burr, the consensual Kevin Hart and the one who was revealed in 2014 as a correspondent for the Daily Showthe incisive Hasan Minhaj.
