Jura Sud players await AS St-Etienne firmly

There is only one day left for the players of Jura Sud to perhaps create the feat in the round of 16 of the Coupe de France. This Sunday, they face AS St-Étienne, a Ligue 1 team, in Louhans in Saône-et-Loire. Three divisions separate the two teams. A victory for the Jurassians would therefore be a great operation. For this, they trained and rehearsed some principles of the game, on December 31 and January 1. The New Year’s Eve was therefore calm for the footballers of Nationale 2.

The players and the coach believe in their chances

Since their last victory against St-Denis de la Réunion, the Jurassians have been on a good roll and they hope to repeat the feat of 1998. That year, Jura Sud had eliminated the Greens, 1-0 in the 8th round of the Cup of France. To succeed in beating, the 20th in Ligue 1, they will have to enter the match immediately. “We have to avoid taking a goal from the start. The longer we hold on, the more confidence we will have”, confides Ludovic Faucher, midfielder.

If the victory is not after 90 minutes, the Jurassians want in any case to achieve a good performance in front of the 5,500 supporters who will be present at the Bram stadium in Louhans. “This season, we have lived a bit of everything. During the match of the 8th round of the Coupe de France, we opened the scoring, then we were led, before finally winning. We are a team that never gives up.”, admits Damien Andrey, midfielder.

All the players, who have often gone through Ligue 1 or Ligue 2 club training centers, are aware of playing an exceptional match. Everyone is hoping to see the magic of the Coupe de France operate.

The match can be watched live and in full on Sunday January 2 from 6.30 p.m. on the France Bleu Besançon branch.
