Junior hockey | The world championship will take place in Alberta in 2027

(Edmonton) The world junior hockey championship will return to Alberta in 2027.

Hockey Canada made the announcement on Saturday, without specifying the city or cities where the tournament will be held.

Alberta most recently hosted the event in 2022, in Edmonton.

Canada then earned a 19e title, at Rogers Place.

The maple leaf also established itself in 2023, in the Atlantic provinces.

Alberta has also hosted junior hockey elite in 1995, 2012 and 2021.

Ottawa will host the competition next year, mainly at the Canadian Tire Centre.

The defending champions are the Americans, victorious in Sweden in early 2024.

The 2026 edition will take place in Minneapolis and Saint Paul.
