Forward Julien Gauthier signed a two-year contract with the New York Islanders on Wednesday.
According to the specialized site CapFriendly, the agreement will bring the Quebecer $ 1.575 million in total in the National League, including $ 775,000 in 2023-2024.

Gauthier ended the last campaign in the uniform of the Ottawa Senators after starting it with the New York Rangers. The 26-year-old hockey player has nine goals and five assists for 14 points in 57 games. The first-round pick, the 21st overall, of the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2016 draft was acquired by the Sens in February in a trade involving Tyler Motte.
The former Val-d’Or Foreurs, in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, has amassed 32 points in 153 career games on the Bettman circuit.
