“I take note of the resignation of Julien Bayou from the environmental group in the National Assembly and from the party”, indicates the ex-partner of the environmentalist deputy, Anaïs Leleux, in a press release published Tuesday April 2. Julien Bayou left the environmentalist group and resigned from the Ecologists party (ex-EELV).

Anaïs Leleux, who accuses Julien Bayou of “psychological violence, waits now from the EELV party “let him do everything in his power to ensure that such a situation never happens again”, can we read. Of “new testimonies” targeting the deputy from Paris and “the announcement that an external investigation was going to be opened made the situation impossible for him”, she says. She said to herself “relieved for the activists who would have been at risk by being around him” but regrets that the deputy was not “able to get help” while he had “all the keys to doing better”, according to her. Anaïs Leleux had filed a complaint for moral harassment and abuse of weakness at the beginning of March against Julien Bayou. He then announced that he was withdrawing.

The party recognizes difficulties

“We fumbled”, for her part, conceded Cyrielle Chatelain, president of the environmental group in the National Assembly, during the group’s press briefing this Tuesday marked by this resignation. “We still lack clear enough tools to know how we can collectively prevent and work on these issues”she added.

Last week, environmentalist deputies voted to keep Julien Bayou in his post in the Assembly. We deplore this result which does not live up to our commitments to combat gender-based and sexual violence.”reacted the Young Environmentalists on
