Julian Bugier, Émilie Tran Nguyen… The France Télévisions editorial team comes to the aid of Nathalie Saint-Cricq

Delphine Ernotte is furious. This Thursday, February 29, 2024, its political journalist Nathalie Saint-Cricq, who also headed the political service of France 2 for several years, was the target of a political recovery of the Insoumis. His name and image were used without his consent in a propaganda leaflet published on the social networks of the party of Louis Boyard, Raquel Garrido and Jean-Luc Mélenchon, and on which we can read: “Nathalie Saint-Cricq votes, and you?” A use of her image and her name that Nathalie Saint-Cricq in no way validated upstream, and which made her the victim of a scabrous political recovery, which she would have gladly done without.

Fortunately, Nathalie Saint-Cricq can count on the support of her peers. While Delphine Ernotte announced, via X, that she was going to defend her employee by taking the Insoumis to court for “violation of image rights” of Amélie Oudéa-Castéra’s aunt by marriage, her sisters and brothers from France Télévisions also came to her aid. On social networks, Julian Bugier, host of the 1 p.m. week of France 2, who collaborates very regularly with Nathalie Saint-Cricq, showed his frank support: “Support for my friend who was shamefully attacked in a political campaign. Nathalie is a great professional and a great journalist” he said.

This is also the case for the journalist Emilie Tran Nguyen

who for many years oversaw the 19/20 of France 3, and who now officiates in C to you and in
Telematin
. The journalist also wanted to provide her support to Nathalie Saint-Cricq: “My full support for Nathalie Saint-Cricq, a great political journalist, free, sincere. I would like to salute her flawless professionalism and the rigor that she has always put to the service of her profession.”

“Nathalie Saint-Cricq is regularly the target”

The SDJ of France Télévisions also posted a press release of support, in which all the journalists gathered declared that they were on their feet, in support of their overwhelmed colleague: “The Society of Journalists of the national editorial staff of France Télévisions denounces the France Insoumise campaign targeting Nathalie Saint-Cricq, journalist and political columnist on our airwaves. Under cover of a seemingly innocuous question, before the European elections, “Nathalie Saint-Cricq votes, and you?”, this is a personal attack and an unacceptable use of his image. Editorial debates on political analyzes are legitimate, whether it is Nathalie Saint-Cricq or any other journalist. But these disagreements cannot give rise to denigration, wherever it comes from and whatever the political party of origin. Nathalie Saint-Cricq is regularly the target, like other public service journalists. This must stop. France Télévisions has taken legal action to request the removal of the visuals concerning our colleague.”
