The good news fell on Tuesday morning. Julian Alaphilippe is summoned by the coach of the French cycling team to participate in the 2022 world championships. The double title winner will therefore be able to defend his chances, during the race organized on Sunday, September 25. It’s a real relief for the Alaphilippe camp after a difficult season marked by Covid contamination and several heavy falls. The latest was on the Tour of Spain on August 31.
While a broken collarbone was feared, the injury was less serious. A dislocated shoulder which did not prevent Alaphilippe from resuming training very quickly and therefore soon competition.
