Julian Alaphilippe misses out on a third world championship title

Julian Alaphilippe lets slip a third world title. The Berrichon rider failed to win the world cycling championships in Australia. He finished 51st in the road race this Sunday, September 25. After two victories, the native of Saint-Amand Montrond gives up the rainbow jersey to Remco Evenepoel.

The 22-year-old Belgian had already won Vuelta and Liège-Bastogne-Liège this year. Second place, on the other hand, goes to a Frenchman. Christophe Laporte is vice-world champion in the sprint. Australian Michael Matthews takes third place.
