For eight years, residents of a Toulouse retirement home have received a visit from Jules, a llama, as part of a pet therapy program that brings smiles back to the elderly.

A very special visitor has been visiting retirement homes for several years. Jules, the lama, brings smiles back to the residents. “Every time we see it, it’s wonderful“, enthuses a woman while caressing the animal. For eight years, this unusual guest has shared welcome moments of tenderness with the residents of a Toulouse retirement home. A beneficial therapy

When he is not in the company of retirees, Jules joins his peers on a breeding farm in Six-Fours-les Plages (Var). Leaving a career in finance, Benjamin Leroy-Blanc became a llama breeder and professional in animal mediation. “The professional will push the interactions“, he explains. Thanks to Jules, residents stimulate their motor skills, gently and with a smile.
