Authors Fanny Britt, Rébecca Déraspe and Marie Leofeli Romero Barlizo are in the running for the 2022 Jovette-Marchessault Prize.

Awarded by the Conseil des arts de Montréal, in collaboration with Théâtre Espace Go, the Jovette-Marchessault Prize aims to recognize the contribution of women artists in the Montreal theater community.
Each year a new artistic feature is featured. After rewarding the directors in 2020, then the designers in 2021, the prize will highlight the work of an author this year.
Works by two of the three finalist playwrights are currently on stage in the metropolis. The Théâtre de Quat’Sous presents, until May 14, All things by Fanny Britt, while the Center du Théâtre d’Aujourd’hui resumes, until May 7, Those who have evaporated by Rébecca Déraspe, after a pandemic interruption.
The work Luckyby Marie Leofeli Romero Barlizo, will embark on a Canadian tour in Vancouver in May.
The winner, who will be announced on May 18, will receive a $20,000 scholarship.
