Journalist Frédéric Leclerc-Imhoff died in Ukraine on Monday May 30, hit by shrapnel. Decryption with Maryse Burgot, special correspondent for France Télévisions in Ukraine.

Journalist Frédéric Leclerc-Imhoff was killed by shrapnel in Ukraine on Monday, May 30, while following a humanitarian operation. “It was a secure convoy, organized by the authorities of the Luhansk region, with police escort and an armored vehicle”details the journalist Maryse Burgot, special correspondent for France Télévisions in Ukraine. The convoy, caught under artillery fire, did not, however, “never reached the civilians he had to evacuate”informs the journalist.

“In this war in Donbass, there are no rules regarding the evacuation of civilians, no corridor, no humanitarian corridor, none of that. People are fleeing on very dangerous roads, regularly bombarded, and taken for target”adds Maryse Burgot, who claims to have it “observed several times”. “Journalists try to tell this terror and this suffering of civilians. This is exactly what our colleagues from BFM were doing this morning: telling the war, filming the war, so that it is not behind closed doors, and that you are informed”concludes the journalist.
