“Look at the frequency of hate messages so you understand”she commented, Thursday May 2, on the social network. Nassira El Moaddem, journalist on the editorial staff of the site Arrêtsurimages.net, is the target of a cyberharassment campaign after comments made on the CNews channel by far-right MP Julien Odoul in reaction to a message posted by the author .

“Country of degenerate racists. There are no other words. Shame”wrote Nassira El Moaddem on Tuesday on X, in reaction to a letter sent by the French Football Federation to club presidents recalling, “in the name of the principle of neutrality and secularism”the ban on players wearing helmets or tights in the absence of “proven medical reason”.

On the set of CNewsthe elected representative of the National Rally invited Nassira El Moaddem – who is of French nationality – to leave France in these terms: “If she’s not happy, she leaves.” The MP also asked “It’s up to the boss of Radio France to suspend her because this lady is paid with French money”. The show “Touche pas à mon poste!” on C8, another channel of the Bolloré group, also devoted a sequence to the journalist’s tweet. “Should she be suspended from Radio France?” Cyril Hanouna asked his columnists.

Elected officials and the media give him their support

Nassira El Moaddem is not, however, neither a journalist on France Inter, nor an employee of Radio France. She occasionally collaborated on two summer series for France Inter in 2021 and 2022. Therefore, her comments communicated via her Twitter account cannot in any way bind us.responded the management of France Inter in a press release. “I said it out loud this morning to Nassira El Moaddem and I say it again here: the racist attacks she is suffering are unacceptable. She has my full support”underlined Adèle Van Reeth, the radio director, on the social network X.

“‘Do not touch My TV’, Hanouna, CNews and the entire far-right Bolloré sphere know that I no longer work for Radio France. The truth is not their problem. Their objective, to carry out a strike: to harass an Arab and attack the public information service”reacted Nassira El Moaddem again on.

Several journalist companies, numerous media outlets, public figures and associations have given their support to the journalist. “The entire editorial team joins its editor-in-chief, Paul Aveline, to denounce the racist harassment suffered by our colleague from the far right, relayed by the Bolloré media”underlines Arrêt sur Images.

Left-wing elected officials including Sandrine Rousseau, Olivier Faure, François Ruffin, Karima Delli and Laurence Rossignol also gave their support to the journalist.

The chained Duck, the societies of journalists TeleramaMediapart.fr, Radio France, franceinfo.fr or even the society of editors of World also expressed their solidarity with their colleague.
