The feature film “Golden Hands” will be released in theaters on Wednesday June 7. Isabelle Mergault’s fourth film recounts the improbable encounter between a writer and a healer.

The comedy golden hands, in theaters Wednesday, June 7, tells the story of a meeting between a famous writer and a bonesetter. “She sees this guy coming to her house who is quite pretentious. […] She will teach him to live”, explains the actress Josiane Balasko who lends her features to the healer. The writer, played by Lambert Wilson, is successful, but a chronic backache prevents him from savoring his life, despite the good care of his doctor wife.

Meeting between the rational and the irrational

It’s Martha’s golden hands that will work a miracle. There is life in this story. Isabelle Mergault, the director, had recourse to a healer to treat her knee. She testifies: “The doctors didn’t do anything for me. They couldn’t find what was wrong with me. This woman made me walk well again.” When an intellectual snob confronts the irrational, he may even end up converting to the joys of a simple life.
