Joséphine Baker will enter the Pantheon on Tuesday, November 30. The time for an exceptional tribute for a heroine and star of the music hall.

It is a file carefully preserved in the basement of the Resistance Museum. Hannah Diamond, a historian, came from Great Britain to consult him. She investigates an unknown role of Josephine Baker: that of a spy during the war. But the file ultimately reveals little information. “There are not many details, it is difficult to find sources and traces”, confides the historian.

How did a music hall dancer become a symbol of the Resistance? What was his role during the war? The singer herself remains enigmatic. Joséphine Baker is an artist extraordinary which fascinates historians, but not only. It all began in 1939 in his sumptuous villa in the Paris region. This story is the inhabitants of Vésinet (Yvelines) who restored it.
