“Jordan Bardella’s patriotism is shoddy patriotism,” criticizes Raphaël Glucksmann

“Your patriotism is a patriotism of the platform, of junk”, criticizes Jordan Bardella on Friday April 12 on France Inter Raphaël Glucksmann, head of the list of the Socialist Party and Place publique in the European elections. Raphaël Glucksmann denounces the different votes of the RN MEP in the European Parliament since the start of the Russian invasion in Ukraine: “To defend Europeans, you are absent”he tells him.

Place Publique MEP recalls that Jordan Bardella voted “against the condemnation of the Wagner militias when they targeted our soldiers, against the European defense fund, and against Edirpa”, the European defense industry through joint acquisitions. However, for Raphaël Glucksman, “it is not simply a question of solidarity with a people who fight to defend their sovereignty and their freedom”. He in fact accuses “Vladimir Poutine [de] have been waging a hybrid war against our democracies for years.”

Raphaël Glucksmann considers that therefore “in a war situation, defend our nation’s adversaries” comes down to not “be patriotic”. He presents himself as the only real patriot between the two of them. “You propose to lift the sanctions [russes] on energy”, he criticizes, recalling that “imports of Russian gas and oil” represent “a billion euros per day leaving European coffers to finance Vladimir Putin’s war machine”. For the head of the PS/Place publique list, these votes relate to a “spirit of defeat and capitulation”.
