After a hectic first day at the Agricultural Show where Emmanuel Macron’s agenda was shaken up, return to normal on Sunday February 25. The opportunity for politicians to put themselves forward: this was the case for Jordan Bardella. But what do farmers think?
No CRS, no stormy reception committee of angry farmers: that’s also the advantage of not being President of the Republic. 24 hours after the chaotic arrival of Emmanuel Macron, Jordan Bardella and his inner circle tried to play up the comparison with the head of state. The president of the National Rally did not hesitate to attack Emmanuel Macron: “Wherever he goes, public order disappears. I think he does not realize the violence, the brutality that is his in the exercise of his mandate”he blurted.
Some farmers conquered
The strategy of the young leader of the National Rally seems to be working, at least with the Rural Coordination, an agricultural union known to be close to the RN: “I, as a farmer, am very happy to see him there”, explains Jean-Philippe Yon, president of the Manche Rural Coordination. The latter had also been one of the most vehement to express his anger towards the President of the Republic, Saturday February 24.
