Jonathan Drouin punished by Martin St-Louis for being late

Canadian forward Jonathan Drouin may very well miss the Montreal team’s next game, because he showed up late for a team meeting held on Friday morning.

Consequently, the Quebecer did not participate in the day’s training and stayed at the hotel. Unhappy head coach Martin St-Louis is considering dropping him for Saturday’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, but the decision is yet to be confirmed. The fact remains that Drouin committed a major fault in the eyes of his boss.

“[Il y a des aspects sur lesquels] I am non-negotiable. Jo missed a meeting and there will be consequences,” St-Louis told reporters after the day’s session, then refused to answer any further questions about it.

Drouin has put his name on the score sheet in each of his last three games. This season, he has a goal and 25 assists for 26 points in 46 games.
