This weekend, Jonathann Daval, at the heart of a criminal case which has drawn criticism from 2017 to 2020, in prison since 2020 after his sentence to 25 years in prison for the murder of his wife Alexia, could be in a relationship with a man with a man. Information that had caused a lot of talk: the man had indeed revealed during his trial never felt comfortable in a relationship and with his wife. During the long investigation that concerned him, he had even revealed that he had killed his wife after yet another argument. about a child he couldn’t make. Many had therefore concluded that his unacknowledged sexual orientation could have been involved in this situation, although his lawyer Randall Schwedorffer recalled that “extensive investigations“had been carried out on this subject before the conviction of his client, without anything having been found.
And the prisoner ended up reacting officially: through the voice of his mother Martine Henry, he denied any connection. “Jonathann assures me that it is false, he does not see where it can come from“, she revealed to the regional daily The Republican East. Explaining that this one has “fear for his life, fear of being attacked for something that does not exist“, she finally recalled that her son had already “been judged“and reminded her”right to be forgotten“, just like his lawyer had done last Saturday.
So, false rumor or desire to remain discreet? Nobody knows for the moment, but the information has collapsed the parents of Alexia Daval, the victim of the thirty-something. His mother also reacted, surprised and disillusioned. “I don’t know why he got married. When you get married, it’s to create your own family. It feels like yesterday, and we learn more and more“, she explained.
As a reminder, the Daval affair dates back to October 2017 : at that time, Jonathann Daval had informed the police of the disappearance of his wife Alexia, gone according to him “Jogging“. A few days later, the body of the young woman, murdered and burned, had been found in the woods. Participating in the white marches and crying in the arms of her parents-in-law during the funeral of her wife, Jonathann Davall finally confessed in January 2018 to having killed his wife after yet another argument.
