Jonathan Beaulieu-Richard, former Alouettes linebacker, is dead

(Montreal) Jonathan Beaulieu-Richard, a former Montreal Alouettes linebacker, died Sunday morning at age 33 after a long battle with cancer.

The University of Montreal Carabins, which he represented from 2008 to 2012, made the announcement on Sunday evening.

Beaulieu-Richard, who played a total of 26 games in the Ambroisie circuit between 2013 and 2016, wore the uniform of the Montreal club of the Canadian Football League 11 times.

After hanging up his cleats in 2016, the Trifluvien practiced his profession as a pharmacist.

The father of two children was also an independent candidate in the 2018 provincial elections in the riding of Maskinongé.
