(Nashville) Jon Bon Jovi and a video production assistant persuaded a woman standing on the edge of a pedestrian bridge in Nashville not to jump into the water.
The incident occurred Tuesday on the Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge, which spans the Cumberland River, local police said.
The daily life The Tennessean reported that Bon Jovi was filming a music video on the bridge, which remained open to the public during filming.
A video posted on YouTube, but later deleted, shows the assistant talking to the woman. The singer slowly approached, waved to her and joined in the conversation.
Eventually, the woman turned to face the two men, who helped her over the railing to safety. Bon Jovi spoke to the woman and hugged her.
A representative for the singer said Bon Jovi would not comment on the incident.
