As Laeticia Hallyday says so well, Johnny Hallyday will forever remain in the hearts of the French despite his disappearance on December 5, 2017. The widow of Taulier has embarked on a gigantic project, to organize the largest exhibition ever devoted to the man whom she loved it so much. An exhibition currently being prepared in Brussels and of which she is the co-producer.
To be as close as possible to the development of this exhibition which will retrace the whole life of Johnny Hallyday (12 million euros budget and 3000 m² of space), Laeticia Hallyday left Los Angeles, heading to Belgium. The mother of Jade and Joy received many journalists in the Brussels workshops, in particular one of the Parisian to whom she delivered some anecdotes and confidences.
By rummaging through Johnny’s many belongings that she had stored over time – she even went so far as to buy back some of her costumes for the exhibition – Laeticia Hallyday got her hands on hidden treasures. “Johnny always put lots of things in his jacket pockets, lighters, medicine, combs, business cards… Last week, when I was choosing clothes, in Los Angeles, I had an emotion by opening this Chrome Hearts. I found in the inside pocket a photo of Jade (their eldest daughter) at 3 years old. He had kept it on him, I didn’t know that, nor did Jade. When I told my daughter, in tears, she asked me to let her in“, shares Laeticia Hallyday, inevitably moved.
The widow of the favorite French rocker also received a journalist from RTL in Brussels, to whom she revealed a few more details about the exhibition. We thus learn that Jean Reno, a very close friend of the family and godfather of Jade, has a major role in this event. “Jean Reno will be a bit of the voiceover, the guide”, told Laeticia Hallyday to RTL. “I hope people will learn even more from him (Johnny Hallyday editor’s note) through this trip“, she added. This giant and unprecedented exhibition will be an opportunity to discover the immense artist that was Johnny Hallyday but also the man with a big heart and multiple flaws.
