Jogger killed by naked man in park near Zurich

A jogger was killed Tuesday evening by a naked man who attacked people in a park in Mannedorf, near Zurich, Switzerland, the police announced Wednesday May 22 in a press release. A 19-year-old suspect has been arrested and must be brought before a prosecutor for “violent crime”.

“On Tuesday evening, a woman was attacked and fatally injured by a man in Mannedorf,” on Lake Zurich, about twenty kilometers southeast of Switzerland’s largest city, said cantonal police, who added that another person was also slightly injured. The police mentioned “passers-by who reported the presence of a naked man in Alma Park who was shouting and physically attacking other people.”

“The emergency services, who quickly arrived on the scene, found a seriously injured woman lying on the ground. Despite immediate resuscitation, the woman died from her serious injuries”, according to police. The identity of the victim is under investigation, as are the circumstances of the attack. The police are also investigating whether the attacker and his victim knew each other.
