JoeyStarr open-hearted about his addictions and that time he almost went too far

Frank, JoeyStarr has always been. And even as he got older, Kool Shen’s ex-sidekick hasn’t changed, quite the contrary. Indeed, at 55, the rapper who has become an excellent actor still does not do in the language of wood. Even when a divisive subject is put on the table. And this even more so in the middle of the Palmade affair…

Because yes, before “staying away”, JoeyStarr took drugs and never hid it. He also mentioned this rather dark period of his life this Thursday, March 2, in the podcast “Counter Addictions” by Keren Meloul, known as Rose, available on Spotify. During his interview with the singer, the one who recently let loose about his exes, admitted that he had never had any real problems with his addictions. Or rather, that his consumption has never posed a vital problem for him so far. In reality, it was the extras that almost got the better of him.

JoeyStarr drugged in the past, but never to excess

JoeyStarr assures him, he has never had this thing of going as far as an overdose”. However, the side “have failed [le] kill”. He particularly remembers this “thing” that he takes “to sleep”. One day, the 55-year-old artist “overdose” and went “found in a room with several people”. “My brother comes in and says ‘can’t you see he’s got his head changing color there? So they called the fire department and everything’he recalled as he visualized the scene again.

Always with Keren Meloul, JoeyStarr also confessed to having smoked crack. But being “very bad drug addict”this was more of a hassle than anything else: “for crack, when you have to cook the thing, I don’t care about it”. “J‘I just want to do my thing’, he finally admits before acknowledging that he would not have “never been able to get shot with heroin”. This “ceremonial trick”it was never his “thing”. And if some think that the cure could have changed something at this time of his life, they are totally wrong. The rapper turned actor confessed: he never “as stoned as in cure”. In the end, it was cooking that helped him, and still helps him today, to slow down.
