The popularity of President Joe Biden is being undermined in the United States, in particular due to rising fuel prices. Americans express their dissatisfaction in a country where distances are enormous and public transport poorly developed.

As in Europe, pump prices in the United States have been rising for several months. Even if the prices have dropped a little in recent days, it takes 1 euro per liter on average and up to 1.45 euro in California, Monday, November 7. It’s cheaper than in France, but Americans have been used for decades to using cheap gasoline in a country where distances are huge and public transport is poorly developed.

“The oil companies have made record profits this year, and not because of their innovations. These are profits made thanks to the war in Ukraine. I ask them to lower the prices at the pump and if these companies do not not, we will impose new taxes and restrictions on them”, said Joe Biden. The president has no choice, he must put pressure on foreign suppliers, because the United States still depends on imports.
