US President Joe Biden on Monday, July 22, urged Democrats to support his vice president, Kamala Harris. “It is the best” he said, his voice still hoarse from Covid, during a call broadcast live just before Kamala Harris’ first campaign event since announcing her withdrawal.

The 81-year-old Democrat also said his withdrawal from the race was the “Good” decision. “I believe it is in the best interests of my party and the country that I step down and focus solely on carrying out my duties as president.”he wrote on Sunday, after weeks of doubts about his mental acuity.

However, he pledged to “continue working to end the war in Gaza”even though he has given up on running for a second term. “I will work very closely with the Israelis and the Palestinians to try to find a way to end the war in Gaza.”he assured.
