Joe Biden asks US Congress for $105 billion for Ukraine, Israel and the southern border

The American president is demanding in particular 61.4 billion dollars for Ukraine and 14.3 billion for Israel.

This is a huge budgetary addition. Joe Biden has asked the American Congress for more than 105 billion dollars (or more than 99 billion euros) to help Israel and Ukraine, but also to respond to the arrivals of migrants at the southern border of the United States, announced Friday October 20 the American presidency.

“The world is watching, and the American people rightly expect their leaders to come together to meet these priorities.”, commented Shalanda Young, director of budgetary affairs at the White House. The Democratic president will have difficulty finding political consensus in the face of a Republican Party in the midst of a crisis.

In detail, Joe Biden is demanding 61.4 billion dollars for the Ukrainian war effort (of which 30 would be spent on arms), 14.3 billion to come to the aid of Israel (of which 10.6 in arms), a little more than 9 billion to respond to humanitarian crises including in Gaza, and a little more than 12 billion to strengthen the border with Mexico as well as fight against fentanyl trafficking, this synthetic opioid which has been wreaking havoc in the country for several years.
